When we were raising finance for Lucky Country in 2007 our production designer, Lisa Stonham created an illustrated screenplay that was filled with reference period photographs, mood images and various other visuals that gave the reader a sense of how the film would look and feel as they read Andy Cox’s wonderful script. It’s a great tool in convincing people of your vision as a director and helps your creative team get a grasp of the kind of film you have inside your head. It also makes for fun reading.
